Q: What is 14K gold fill?

A:  14k gold fill is composed of a solid layer of gold mechanically bonded to a base metal

Q: Will 14k gold fill irritate my ears?

A: No. In 18 years, I have never had someone return a pair of earrings for that reason.

Q: Will it tarnish?

A: The gold fill is mechanically bonded so it will never rub off.

Q: Is gold fill and gold vermeil the same?

Q: If I lose an earring can I get a replacement?

Q: Where is the jewelry made?

A: No. Gold fill is mechanically bonded while gold vermeil is plated, which is a different process  that involves a lighter  coating that can rub off.

A: Unfortunately I will not be providing single earring replacements at this time.

A: All pieces are handcrafted in Kate Jack's jewelry studio in Ashland, Oregon.
